George Knight is one of those authors that make you think. This book, though small, will do that also.

Just got word that our conference president has been reading it. The conference has ordered 21 of them

Weird. How did he get an advance copy???? The ABC online doesn't even have a listing for it and Amazon is taking orders. Why is the ABC so behind?

I have no idea! He could have been sent one by the author himself. It was a bizarre twist that we even knew about it (read the introductory post).

If you've read it, why would (or are) the Seventh-Day Adventist churches losing (or ignoring/avoiding) the apocalyptic message from the thrust of their modern ministry? Is this world-wide or mostly in the West?

I am currently attending a church that week after week features snippets, either quotes in sermons or videos, of other mainstream Christian authors. THAT pastor was one I particularly told about the book.

I'll buy the book today at the Loma Linda ABC along with the LeRoy Moore book about Questions On Doctrine. I just finished Herbert Douglass' book on QOD. It was outstanding.

They have it at Borders?

I don't think it would be at Borders but you can read some of it online and you could order it online as well as at Barnes and Nobles.


Google the title and the name of the author.

Unfortunately, I would be very surprised if you were able to find any Review & Herald or Pacific Press books at Borders.

But we, the Review, make sure all our latest titles make it onto Amazon, and AdventistBookCenter.com of course.

I'm amazed that stores like Berean Christian book stores don't have classics like Steps to Christ, Desire of Ages, etc. They carry romance novels, so why not a great book like Desire of Ages? I know it is just their policy not to carry anything by SDA or material favorable towards us.

Do you know if Barnes and Nobles carries any SDA books published by Pacific Press or R & H?

Why are you comparing Desire of Ages to a romantic novel?

Actually, if you try to find Ellen White books on Ebay ... you will find a certain percentage of them in the novel section. And some of the sellers will make it very clear that they are novels and full of fairy tales.

Here's the comparison:

If a store is willing to sell a trashy book, why not be willing to sell a great book?

Can they honestly raise the claim that Desire of Ages has objectionable material, when they are willing to sell romantic novels?
