Why did you get your toe pierced? And with what?

The Toe piercing is a joke. sorry, But the gas thing was not. I have come close to death several times.

Oh, O.k., that really made me cringe--glad it was a joke. You should tell about your near death experience though.

You get to go to WA? Awesome stuff!

I had a pickup truck that I made a few adjustments to. I lived in an area where I could go one mile and get on a freeway and take two more freeway turns and come back to the house. A big loop. About 10 miles total. I wold be gone just a short time. But as I was about half way I remembered there was no gas left. And no service stations or exits along this route. Sure enough the truck quit. I walked a while to find a house. I had left the medicine I needed to breath at home. I went to several houses and finally found someone home. She was afraid to let me in and called a cab. After what seemed like a long time I persuaded her to call 911. I knew I was in deep trouble. I was about to pass out when the cab arrived. He took me home 3 miles and I went in and took emergency medicine. I gave him a twenty. That was worth more back then.
Now my tanks are very full.
About 6 years ago I stopped to help a baptist preacher who ran out of gas in the same stretch. The temp was only about 30 when he ran out. As I drove him back I said the Lord had sent a Seventh-day Adventist to rescue him. His eyes got real big. But he was very happy.

Philippines is on WAST.
They are not actually my Pineapples. We have Coconut trees, Jackfruit, Green Mango, and one more. The Jack fruit is so popular that thieves steal it. My mother in law put up a bamboo fence to stop the thieves. She had been watching one grow for about a month. They are big like American green watermelons. Because they get so heavy they prop them up with sticks. When this was about ripe she went outside to check on it and it was GONE! Ho boy. That thief had guts.

The Pineapples are local grown from what looks like a bush. They have them in rows and to this American it looks like a Christmas tree farm.

Vine Ripe is an American marketing word. All the fruits, Vegetables and fish are fresh that day or the day before. Fish is brought in just after sunrise. Good stuff is gone by noon.
The Pineapples are about 25 cents each.
In my area I would guess less than 5% have refrigerators. So people go to the market every other day.

The lack of refrigeration is more demonstrated with the flesh eaters, seeing people taking
live chooks/chickens home strung over the handle bars of their motor scooters, because they
have to kill them just prior to preparing them. My memories of Karachi, and I think it is
much the same through out eastern and southern Asia.

Yours looks like mine, where I come from ( Haiti)it's a very nice Island but killing by the polyticiens it is not what it use to be anymore. People are very freinly, hard worker, they love foreiners.Those who live in towns half of them have a refrigerator but those on the contry side have nothing, but they love their nomal life with their families and freinds, because they own their houses, no mortgage for thirty years.

On the contry side they have a lots of fruits: Mingo, Avocado, coconut,sweet potatoe, and a lots more, even if you don't have any, people are willing to share what they have with you.If I could I would like to live in the Island again,May God bless the Island.
