Did you mean that we will not even be married after we get to heaven?

When we get there where is my wife going to live if we are not married anymore?

Do we each get our own mansion?

No matter what this weeks' Sabbath School lesson said......IMO the Bible does NOT say that there will be no marriage in Heaven or the Earth made new. It does say that "In the resurrection"...there shall neither be marriage nor giving in marriage. It does not say what happens after that. Does this give us the idea, then , that the only people that are on the other planets are a specific number that were created for that planet?

I am not sure there will be marriage in Heaven ... because we have much work to accomplish during that time. Much to learn. Now once we go to the Earth made new ... there will be plenty of time for frolic.

We do well to understand the difference between Heaven and the New Earth.

Yes Olger. Very True. The New Earth is to be like the Garden of Eden where we return to what was meant to be for Adam and Eve. What was meant was for there to be marriage. So, I believe that marriage will be restored in the restored New Earth.

In Luke were Jesus says "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage; but those who are accounted worthy to attain to the age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, for they cannot die any more, because they are equal to angels and are sons (and daughters) of God, being sons of the resurrection." It seems to be pretty clear that Jesus is saying that in the new earth there will be no more marriage's. Even though it doesn't say the words it seems to indicate this, at least that's the way I read it.

It makes all kinds of sense for there not to be marriage in heaven or the New Earth. What would happen to someone who had been happily married to more than one subsequent spouse in this life? Which spouse would they be married to in heaven, or would they be married to both? What if they were unhappily but faithfully married in this life? Would they be forced to be married for eternity?

I guess we just won't know till we get there. Now we just need to focus on gettin' there.

I agree RW. However, I do not see God making those type of changes. Marriage was designed before sin, we are a distinct being from angels or whatever. Did God create us just for fun and games and then all along was going to change his basic creation of humans? I don't believe so. I don't know how He will handle the whole marriage idea, but do away with it, who can trust Him not to make more changes? Maybe change His mind about a new earth? Sounds to much like game playing, maybe we are just SIMs in a virtual reality game?

I will just look forward to arriving in heaven, that is the goal isn't it!

I think God gave Adam a mate for two reasons. One was for companionship, a person of his own kind. Another reason was to populate the earth. Those reasons will be moot in the New Earth.
