I will as able, but the time difference can make it difficult. On the plus (?) side my husband is leaving me for the entire Games so that will leave more free time.

(He is off to Indonesia with some mission type purpose in mind)

The torch was in Abbotsford last night. I didn't want to go see it, but today my husband will take his school kids to watch it come through Aldergrove.

Definately will be watching them, t.v. will be on constantly--except during Sabbath hours. GO ATHLETES!!!

Why not on Sabbath hours? Is this 'work' and earning a living for you? Hmmm? Could it be that you have not read the ten commandments lately? Keeping it 'holy' means to set it apart from a day of work where you make your living.-- It does not say one can't watch or listen to anything. Neither does say that one can't enjoy this time because you are not working for a living on this day. Do you think that God just shuts His eyes and ears on that day?

I find it interesting that many SDA's hold to 'teachings' from others that have absolutely nothing to do with the truth in regards to what God said.

We are enjoined to turn ourselves away from doing our own pleasure on that day, not speaking our own words, finding our own pleasure nor doing our own ways on the Sabbath. It is a day to honor Him, according to Isaiah 58:13

It's a promise that holds a blessing :)

Doesn't the Bible also say something against doing your own pleasure on the Sabbath day?

Seems like Gail and I are both on the same wavelength.

Please do some investigation on the word 'pleasure' and you will find that this means and meant YOUR WORK one does to live. It has NOTHING to do with doing other things that are pleasing. It is nice to live near Loma Linda where we have these great professors who know the difference. Just a few weeks ago in our church this question came up and the truth was made known to the astonishment of many, that this only meant the work on did for ones living.

Jesus said one must KNOW the truth for one to be free from sin. Please do some serious study to know the truth. Faith alone will not cut it.
