Will you be attending the General Conference session in Atlanta, George the end of June this year ? If so how about getting together at least once so that we might put some faces with names?

So far the list is as follows (as far as I know).

Don Aldridge
Redwood

As soon as we know how many then I will look for a place for us to meet. My suggestion is in the early evening July 1.. 'nuff sed

Don't you live in the area Sivart? You don't necessarily need to go to the meetings but you could just show up for the CA get together.

I live four or five hours away... not too far, but pretty far still.

Yeah, but still, it'd be pretty far to drive just for the CA meeting. Besides, I love sitting through hours of meetings. :D

I think he may be retiring anyway. You may have not have a choice. Are we ready for our first President from a developing nation? I've never been to Canada so i'm not sure if that includes Canada. fro3

It is an 18 hour drive for us. If my sister-in-law from Costa Rica comes we make take vacation and go for a few days. I have the AA International Convention in San Antonio July 1-4 so if we go it would be for the beginning and not the end.

What's a "real Adventist" ? :)

I will show ways in which I may not be a real Adventist to those who make statements like that.....I have never attended,
and have no wish to attend, a GC. Does that make me heathen?
Also I have never attended an Adventist school in spite of having grown up in a town that was predominantly SDA at that time, with SDA parents.

Of course if I was nearby and there was a CA meeting....

I hope those who do make GC are blessed.

The General Conference will be televised on the Hope Channel. Some churches stay open all week and televise the meetings there for those members wanting to watch that don't have satellite at home.

I think most Adventists can get to feeling like they are not "real Adventists" if they focus on the issues where they disagree with the movement. However when I put aside those areas where I disagree and focus only on the common ground, I feel quite a bit like a "real" Adventist.

I don't know which channel it should be on. However both channels are broadcast from the same satellite. If you get Hope Channel from DirecTV than you cannot get Hope Church Channel. However if you have an FTA dish from AdventistSat or GloryStar, you just need to do a blind scan and it should pick it up.

I am not happy about this. I want every channel possible. I don't want to be cheated.

Guess I will have to try to find it on my Adventist Satellite. But I don't have TIVO on that Satellite. So, it does make me feel cheated.

What is the most likely date for this gathering?

I may only be able to be up there for a few days and knowing that would help with planning.
