You call this a universal principle? Bingo! Look at it in it's context. God is speaking to Moses about the children of Israel, and what is getting ready to happen to them, because they have turned to idols. Okay...so they partially rejected God and what happened? God abandoned them and trouble followed. Now think future....One day the world, besides the Christian, will universally reject God. What will happen? Right, trouble follows that ends in the 2nd death. Same principle. It has nothing to do with the final destruction of the wicked. Sure it does.... BTW, I hope you have forgiven me for going off on you. That was my nature....Nothing good in human nature.

Now think future....One day the world, besides the Christian, will universally reject God. What will happen? Right, trouble follows that ends in the 2nd death. Same principle. Except that is not how God says the second death will come about. It's not like He hasn't told us what He's going to do, so that we need to borrow what He said about a totally different situation, and apply it where it doesn't belong.

Are you 100% certain you are right about God? Are you 100% certain? Yes. Do you have "the leg up" on those who believe He will punish and destroy the wicked at the end of time? Never said that....Do you? Yes. Or, are you merely hoping you're right? I err on the side of mercy and love....Love does no wrong to its neighbor. In fact God loves His enemies....Burning someone in fire for many days isn't justice or love. It's sadism. And yet you preface your belief with "I err . . ." Are you sure you want to base such a fundamental belief on "I err"? It would be a lot easier to live with learning God simply allows sin and sinners to self-destruct. Would you be happy spending eternity knowing God punished and destroyed millions of men, women, and children? Not really...but apparently God will explain those hard to understand verses....If not, then iniquity would arise a second time, huh? "Not really" sounds like shaky ground upon which to base a fundamental belief. Just how certain are you that you're right? How certain are you? 100% certain. You know, you are coming off very egotistical. The Bible is complex....It was written over thousands of years....There's a lot you and I do not know. Are you sure you wouldn't rather preface your opinion of me with "I err"?

Okay....The Bible is too complex for me to say I'm 100% certain. But I am certain of God's agape love. As to being 100% sure that God does the destroying keep the following in mind: We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed. [CW 37]

Okay....The Bible is too complex for me to say I'm 100% certain. But I am certain of God's agape love. I appreciate the honest confession. I hope you don't fault me for being 100% certain about God's role in the punishment and destruction of the wicked at the end of time. Also, thank you for leaving out personal comments in this post.
