Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.

If it does not affect us, why would we?

Many of us are comfortable, well fed, good jobs, enjoy our time alone in some pretty decent chairs at home, why mess with a good thing?

AFTER all, if 'they' were chose to be more like us, they would be like us, right?

Social justice is a very misunderstood concept in Adventism, that is except those Adventists who were active during the civil rights movement of the 60s and 70s.

On this historic eve of the passage of health care reform in America, it is clear that for many Americans, the concept of trying to work as a community (without profit motive) to create a just social structure is still a far too foreign idea.

That said, it is mainly a generational issue, as I see that many of my students at PUC and friends around the denominational intuitively get that taking care of the least of these, including voting for progressive policies continues the work of Jesus in the 21st century.
