Those claws would have to be for digging. We have echidnas that
dig, but they have spines.
Is it a woodchuck or something like that.
So cute that only a mother could love it, anyway :) Ever been up close & personal to a wombat, Nan? Their claws are pretty impressive. They need to dig a hole big enough to house their bulldozer-like bodies. I think that's a baby wombat - the nose has "wombat" written all over it, too. We have a photo of a similar critter on the notice board in the staff room at work - on an ambulance trolley, being attended to by one of the local wildlife carers and the local ambulance paramedic. And there is another photo of the same critter, now recovered from whatever was wrong with it, dressed up in tinsel and a Santa hat for the staff Christmas party. As you can tell, we work in an area where there is quite a lot of wildlife, and sometimes they fall victim to road accidents. aldona
