Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Here are some questions I might ask my Sabbath School class:

1. How can you show a connection between Daniel 8:14 and Daniel 9?

2. What characteristics of Daniel's prayer in Daniel 9 should be used as a model for our own prayers?
The 70-year period Daniel was struggling with was:

To Daniel the Temple in ruins was a symbol of God's physical absence on earth.

Why did God give Daniel's vision in two parts?

NLT
20. I went on praying and confessing my sin and the sins of my people, pleading with the Lord my God for Jerusalem, his holy mountain.
21. As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice.
22. He explained to me, "Daniel, I have come here to give you insight and understanding.
23. The moment you began praying, a command was given. I am here to tell you what it was, for God loves you very much. Now listen, so you can understand the meaning of your vision.
24. "A period of seventy sets of seven* has been decreed for your people and your holy city to put down rebellion, to bring an end to sin, to atone for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.*
25. Now listen and understand! Seven sets of seven plus sixty-two sets of seven* will pass from the time the command is given to rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One* comes. Jerusalem will be rebuilt with streets and strong defenses,* despite the perilous times.
26. "After this period of sixty-two sets of seven,* the Anointed One will be killed, appearing to have accomplished nothing, and a ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. The end will come with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end.
27. He will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven,* but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. Then as a climax to all his terrible deeds,* he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration,* until the end that has been decreed is poured out on this defiler."

Now the 70 time 7 is a puzzler. Has this time period already occurred, or will it occur in the future during the Time of the End?

During this time:

Rebellion is put down
Sin is ended
Guilt is atoned for
Everlasting righteousness is brought in
Prophetic vision is confirmed
Most Holy Place is anointed

Immediately after 69 7's the Anointed One arrives
At that time Jerusalem will be rebuilt during a time of peril
After the 69 7's the Anointed One is killed and a ruler destroys the city and the Temple

A flood occurs and the war continues until the very end.
The evil ruler makes a treaty for one 7

Halfway through the 7, that is, at 3.5, this ruler sets up the abomination that causes desolation until this ruler meets his fate.

.....

Now, was Jerusalem being rebuilt during a time of peril at 69 7's, or, 483 years before Christ appeared on Earth as a newborn?

Was rebellion put down during his lifetime? Not here on Earth, anyway. Rebellion still exists in our time, as I see it.

Did sin cease to exist? No. All we have to do is look around ourselves today to see it.

Was guilt atoned for, that is, reconciled? Could be. We could say that Jesus took our guilt, whatever that means.

Was Everlasting Righteousness brought in? Not experienced here by us, if that's what that means. Maybe everlasting righteousness refers to Christ.

Was prophetic vision confirmed? Perhaps. Were prophecies of events occurring during the 70 7's fulfilled?

Was the Holy Place anointed? Maybe in some way Jesus anointed the Most Holy Place. Not the one on Earth, though. In the Earthly Temple in the Most Holy Place was just a common rock.

....

These time periods could very well be only days, 490 days = 70 7's. This would fit in well if this time period occurred after the 1000 years and the 2nd Resurrection.

The mystery is the reference to the Anointed One being killed during the last 7. Nearly everything fits into an End Times Scenario, except for this. Why would the Anointed One, whoever this is if it isn't Christ, be killed during the End Times? Will Christ be killed again when a rebuilt Jerusalem and Temple are destroyed again by Satan and his uncountable army of Gog and Magog?

Did a flood occur during Christ's time? Is this supposed to be a flood of water, as in Rev 12, or is this a figurative flood of warriors and destruction overwhelming and destroying the old Jerusalem and the old Temple in 70AD?
